A few days ago, I researched extensively on Giorgio Morandi's still life and landscape paintings. From the studying of his unique approaches to tonal shifts, colour selections and object compositions. I made some 10 models and drawings. I selected muted colours such as sand stone, beige, light gold, brown and dark green. I imitate the shapes of everyday objects such as vases, bottles and bowls. These models resembles a number of different curves. Here are what I have created.
Each model is created and discovered via carefully placing different shapes together, some cut cross one another, some fold inside each other, some just stand side by side of each other. Each position presents a different tonal shift and create a different moment.
