When it comes to the interior design, the question of "what's the theme?" is often raised. Do we need a theme or style? I do not believe that an interior space has to be fixed into one period of a particular style. For example, the very much hot now Scandinavian style. Why not mixing old with new? How about trying to add modern minimalism with a heritage building? Or a modern ornate Italian apartment.

This week, I sketched 3 floor plans and 3 section plans of the 5th floor apartment. Please refer to below images. In floor plan version A, I used diffused water colours of mustard, yellow ochre, raw Sienna and a dash of charcoal. These colours are selected from my artist model Morandi's colour pallets. The intention was to create a diffusion of the chosen colour pallets in the atmosphere.

Version B of the floor plan was focused on a monochromatic tone, raw Sienna. This colour was used abundantly in Morandi's still-life paintings. The tonal shifts were used to create a light to dark threshold change as visitors or occupants enter the space.

Finally, in version C of the floor plan, outdoor roof top space is included in the drawing. A green roof garden was drawn to illustrate the potential use of the space. Trees, shrubs, pot plants, seating plans are drawn below. An indoor/outdoor flow is generated to maximising socialisation.
